The delegates had the distinct honor to make a courtesy call on H.E. Ms. Faeqa bint Saeed Al-Saleh, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and discuss the current collaboration and future development plans regarding public health under the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions signed in March 2019. It was noted that three medical specialists from the PSU Faculty of Medicine have been sent to work temporarily in Bahrain under the Visiting Doctor Program. In addition, a training program will be initiated in the near future for Bahraini doctors to gain practical experience at the PSU Faculty of Medicine.

The PSU delegates have also visited the University of Bahrain (UoB), and were warmly welcomed by the honorable President Riyad Yousif Hamzah and team. Based on the success of the recently implemented student exchange program between the two universities, the productive discussion identified further ways of future cooperation between PSU and the UoB, including the Visiting Adjunct Professor Program in fields of mutual interest, and sending UoB students to participate in PSU’s summer program. The meeting was concluded by a cordial invitation of the UoB President and administrative team to visit PSU in order to continue discussing the development of these collaborative activities in further detail.

Additionally, PSU doctors from the faculty will provide traditional Thai medical check-up to customers there.

In summary, this auspicious visit provided successful and effective means to strengthen PSU’s relationship with Bahraini institutions, and to explore the potential for collaboration in areas of mutual interest. Meanwhile, the tangible collaborative activities that have been agreed upon have set strong expectations for successful outcomes in the near future.
