The International Affairs Office of Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus, in collaboration with the Division of International Affairs and Languages Development of Naresuan University, organized the third National Roundtable on “The Impact of Internationalization on Academic Rankings”, under the Erasmus+ “MARCO POLO” Project, on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Tipa Krabi Resort, Krabi province. More than 60 representatives of universities from all over Thailand participated in the roundtable discussions, led by the Vice President for International Relations and Cooperate Communication at Mahidol University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti.

       Through the informative event, participants learned about the weighted impact of various academic indicators on globally recognized university rankings. The keynote speaker then highlighted Internationalization strategies that alleviate the most prevalent issues with the currently existing Internationalization policies of Thai HEIs, and help to elevate their institutional visibility to a competitive level. The session was concluded by examining effective methods to formulate university strategies, using UNESCO Internationalization Indicators as a model.

       The third National Roundtable gave participants excellent opportunities to share experiences in Internationalization strategies, brainstorm new ideas, and increase their understanding of the current developments in the field of Internationalization of higher educational institutions in the region.
