The Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2014 – the world’s first global ranking of universities in 22 countries defined as emerging economies, including Thailand – were published on 4 December 2013. This ranking, powered by Thomson Reuters, includes only institutions in countries classified as “emerging economies” by FTSE, including the “BRICS” nations of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The top universities ranking uses the same methodology as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, covering all core missions of a world-class university – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook – using 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators.
