waseda university logoSince 2009 the Seminar of Peace Building and Peace Study of Waseda University (Tokyo), Faculty of Social Sciences, has been already conducting, under supervision of Prof. Hidetoshi TAGA and Prof. Mitsuru YAMADA, their field studies on conflict resolutions in Rwanda, Mindanao, East Timor, Cambodia, and the border of Thai-Burma. During this year 2013 the two professors and twelve students, will visit Thailand to research the issues in the “Deep South”.

psu logoA joint seminar with Prince of Songkla University will be held on August 28 at PSU Hat Yai Campus. In the morning session two keynote speakers from Pattani and Hat Yai will give fundamental information on the conflict and ongoing attempts of solution. In the afternoon session students from both sides will give presentations and discuss on various topics.

We would like to invite all interested PSU staff and students and others who are ready to exchange information and opinions with Japanese professors and students. A pre-registration until August 26 would help the preparations for the seminar.
