PSU Students are “Winner Best Rookie” in Japan

On September 7, 2012, at Ogasayama Nature and Sports Park ECOPA in Shizuoka, Japan, PSU engineering students won the Winner Best Rookie, or Mue Mai Yot Yiam, at the formula competition, SAE Competition of Japan 2012 (JSAE 2012). This was a formula design competition among students. They were ranked the 29th out of 82 teams. The PSU team was one of the three teams from Thailand selected by the Society of Automotive Engineer Thailand during the TSAE Auto Challenge Student Formula 2012 to participate in the competition in Japan.
During the SAE Competition, the assessment criteria covered the following key areas: a driving test, engine capacity, energy efficiency, design, creativity, budget, marketing, and a presentation, with a full mark of 1000 points.
Evidently, the competition allowed the participating students to use the skills of automotive engineering and design. They were able to show their great potential of applying in-class knowledge and skills to real-world challenges and opportunities at both national and international levels.
