Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poonsuk Prasertsan, researcher at the Faculty of Agro-Industry of Prince of Songkla University, has been selected as the National Outstanding Researcher in the Agricultural and Biotechnology field by the National Research Council of Thailand. She was presented with the "2013National Inventor Award" on February 2, 2013, at the IMPACT Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, Thailand.

The national award for outstanding research is presented by the National Research Council to outstanding Thai researchers, who continuously dedicate themselves to the academic research. Their research must demonstrate outstanding initiative thinking and they have to do research for not less than five years. Also, their research work has to be well established and highly regarded in the academic group. The national outstanding research award is presented yearly, to honor and encourage researchers knowledgeable in various research fields, knowledge which benefits the academic community.
